Richard shawyer

Richard Shawyer, our MD.  Richard previously owned another agency which he sold in 2015.  He founded this firm to continue the patient journey which he campaigns for and which is customers are keen to continue with being a long term patient himself.  Richard has been to university achieving a 2:1 in Business Management, is a commercial pilot and now has twins to look after.  Richard very much likes maintaining relationships with all stakeholders and many consultants view Richard as a go to person with difficult questions.  When Richard is not running around after his children he very much enjoys the theatre, travel and eating out with friends.




Alison came to us after having 25 years’ service with Santander/Abbey National bank in various positions ultimately rising to the position of Regional Manager.  Alison took redundancy in 2012, as a change of scenery was required.  Alison joined the medical billing industry as a debt collector in 2013 where her skills were wasted and she quickly rose to Office Manager and has been doing this role for 5 years.  Nearly all of our clients will interact with Alison at some point, as she completes the monthly reporting and she is very much a problem solver and our Office Manager.

Chris has over 10 years of Account Management and people management experience, starting out his career in the world of Asset Finance and vehicle leasing where he enjoyed a number of highly successful years in a fast paced sales environment. It has however been in the private healthcare space, where he has really found his forte. In the medical billing sector for over 5 years now, he is driven by providing an exceptional service to his clients. This very level of service has been the cornerstone used to build long standing relationships with Consultants, Practice Managers and Secretaries alike. His uncompromised approach to attention to detail and his highly specialized level of expertise has seen him earn successive promotions and a highly regarded reputation within the industry.



Nikki worked for Post Office Counters for seventeen years before taking some time out following the birth of her second child.  She began working within the collections industry over ten years ago moving into Medical Billing in the last 5 years.  She initially began working in the debt collection team, moving through the different roles rising to the post of Assistant Office Manager.



Alex is an account manager at Patient Billing Ltd and joined the team in September 2018.  Alex had previously worked for another medical billing company and wanted to carry on his development within the same industry. Previously he worked in engineering, fundraising as well as account management in a marketing agency firm.


Ritchie hunter

Ritchie has worked in the medical billing and collection industry for 10 years and brings a wealth of experience in sales, marketing and business development. Ritchie studied Management Science at Loughborough University obtaining an upper second class honours degree before converted to law, qualifying as a solicitor back in 1999.  On qualification and after watching the famous Tom Cruise flick Jerry Maguire, he decided to swap proof reading and form filling for the glamorous life on the road as a sports agent, managing many leading rugby players in the UK and Ireland for some 14 years.  Opting for change to a ‘real’ job and with the future in mind, after a brief time working in legal recruitment, he moved in to business development in medical billing where he remains today as Client Director for Patient Billing.



Chloe has worked in account management and administration support within the Medical Billing industry for the last 3 years. She has recently returned to work in a part time role at Patient Billing following the birth of her first child. She previously worked in a customer service role within the leisure industry.



Lisa previously worked in retail before moving into the medical billing industry in February 2014 as a Debt Collection agent. Lisa quickly progressed through the company, moving into account management with responsibility for liaising with consultants and handling reporting. Having become a senior member of staff, Lisa embarked on an internal Management course, working closely with her Line Manager and company Director. This included being given responsibility for personal development plans, disciplinaries, and general staff management. In February 2017 Lisa went on maternity, leaving her role to become a full-time mother. She has now returned to work, joining Patient Billing in May 2019. Lisa has been able to use her past experience to quickly adapt back into her role as an account manager which she is thoroughly enjoying.



Toni previously worked in retail as a Customer Service Team Leader before embarking on a Business Administration Apprenticeship in September 2017. Working in retail has helped her understand all aspects of customer service requirements. Her apprenticeship covered many areas of business administration including how to invoice and reconcile payments, HR as well as data entry. Since joining the medical billing industry in April 2019, Toni has adapted very quickly to her new role as account manager. Toni enjoys the variety of skills the new role offers, many of which she has already gained experience both working in and studying. Clients have also been impressed by Toni’s strong work ethic and attention to detail.



James worked in the music industry as well as IT before moving into the medical billing industry in 2016, joining Patient Billing in March 2019. In the music industry, James supplied sound equipment to festivals across Europe. This enabled him to understand the complexities of running a business as well as meeting client expectation and working under major pressure. In IT, James worked as a technician for a large pharmaceutical company for several years, having studied in IT to advanced excel level and Compliance to ITIL standard. This has giving James a major advantage in using Patient Billing’s technology to provide a fast, more efficient and secure billing and collection service to clients. As well as working as an account manager, James unofficially doubles up as our in-house IT consultant!



Hayden worked in various customer service and customer relations roles before joining Patient Billing in July 2019. These roles have included working in customer services at Sainsbury’s, which mainly involved answering customer queries. Hayden then moved to a small motor trade business in Amersham where he was the first point of contact for customers as well as managing a small administration team. Finally, Hayden worked for Camelot where he ended up managing stock supply and providing technical assistance for multiple stores. He was also responsible for arranging and supervising engineering visits and refurbishment projects. Hayden has quickly settled in to his account support role at Patient Billing and has become a popular member of staff. He is enjoying learning about the private medical billing and collection industry generally (or so he says!) as well as using healthcode and ePractice Manager.



Amelia has worked in account management within the Medical Billing industry for the past 2 years.  Prior to that she worked in the NHS as a first point of contact for staff and various other customer service related roles. Amelia enjoys the variety of work account management provides and is passionate about seeing how technology is used to improve how business is done.  In our case, paying for private treatment. In her spare time she enjoys the outdoors, especially riding horses and visiting local markets.
